Welcome Hi my name is Linda Brown. Welcome to Skye-Cakes, which is a home based cake decorating business situated just outside Portree, Isle of Skye. My husband, Duncan and I moved from Northampton to Skye in 2004 to begin a new life. Having taken early retirement we now have the time to pursue our hobbies. In my case that's cake decorating. I specialise in beautiful and realistic hand crafted sugar flowers which i can make to co-ordinate with your bouquet or colour scheme. Whatever you decide I am sure you will be pleased with the finished cake. Qualifications. I have studied cake decoration for 5 years and have obtained several qualifications at the highest level. I am also a member of The British Sugar Craft Guild. Greatest Success to Date. In February 2003 I entered a Salon Culinaire, hosted by The Bedford Food and Wine festival and was awarded the Gold Medal and Trophy for the best arrangement of sugar flowers. Prices and Delivery. Prices vary according to the size, type of cake and the amount of time and skill required to produce the finished cake. Therefore it is difficult to quote prices on this website. However, as a rough price guide a 3 tier wedding cake (all fruit cakes, marzipaned and covered with sugar paste) with a simple spray of hand crafted sugar flowers on each cake would start at approximately £275.
